Mayor Kate Gallego just announced that single family residential doesn’t mean what it used to anymore.
Phoenix is revising their zoning code to allow additional “full fledged living units” consisting of casitas, duplexes and triplexes to be added to all residential areas “to combat Arizona’s affordable housing shortage.” This could be a boon for building while the real estate sales market, including new homes, and work on significant so-called “vanity remodels” slows down due to increased interest rates.
Our work in the real estate and construction space can help owners transition their current single family back yard usage to something more – whether that means bringing extended family onto your property to achieve economies of scale with increasing costs for necessities or a profit generating rental.
